YouTube Emotes

YouTube does a Twitch and starts offering support for what they call “YouTube Emotes”. Similar to YouTube’s emoji support, Emotes can be found in a scrolling menu and used within the comment section of a video or when active in a live stream. To find and use YouTube Emotes, users can click the smiling face emoji symbol. Like emotes on Twitch, YouTube Emotes are static images that represent certain themes, characters, or phrases. Also like Twitch each channel are able to create custom membership emojis.

“Sometimes words just don’t do the moment justice. When words run out, you now have YouTube Emotes, a new way for you to express yourself with fun images across streams and comments!“ / Jensen (TeamYouTube)
